Congratulations Sharon Markwardt

Sharon wants everyone to know that she is having a great month! Today is the first day of the rest of her life. She is retiring. Sharon and her husband are leaving tomorrow to visit the new love of her life... her new granddaughter. Sharon is the proud grandma of Madilynn Ann Markwardt, born August 16, 2009 at 5:06 EDT - 7 pounds and 20" long Mom Dad and baby are doing great. They are driving to Knoxville TN to meet their little girl and expect to be gone 4 to 5 weeks.

Prayers Needed For A Few Members

This has not been a good summer for the health of a few of our members. Here is a rundown of those who need our best wishes and prayers. Please send get well cards to their home addresses.

Arlene Lanch, who is home a recovering very well from heart bypass surgery.

Barbara Hagy, who was just hospitalized again, after falling. Dr.s are trying to figure out why she is having these issues, but so far everything is checking out ok. I believe she is recovering at home, by the time you get this.

Carol Black, was hospitalized Monday, and will remain there for at least 3 or 4 more days.

And last but not least, Phyllis Day's husband is in the hospital recuperating from back surgery, for a ruptured and compressed disk.

We hope you are all on the road to good health soon.

Newsletter Delay?

Boy has time flown by this month! What ever happened to the lazy, hazy, days of summer? Seems to be just flying by.

Just wanted to let you know that I have been having some computer issues, the last couple of weeks, and so I am way behind on the newsletter. I am hoping to get it finished and out by Friday. If you know someone who is receiving their newsletter via postal mail, could you please let them know?

Hello and Welcome

Welcome members! Hoping that we can use this format, for awhile, until we have a more formal website set up. Hopefully we can use it to communicate and share our love of quilting.

Thanks to Gloria Cromer, for sharing all the wonderful photos, she takes at meetings and workshops. Weare limited to the number of photos, that can go into the newsletter each month, so I will put as many as I can here.

If you have any comments, ideas, or thoughts, to make this better, please leave them.

As always, you can contact me at goldenvalleyquilters@gmail.com
